Mass grave of Christians slain by Islamic State in 2015 uncovered in Libya
Libyan authorities have confirmed the existence of a mass grave with 34 Ethiopian Christians slain by ISIS terrorists.
The nation’s interior ministry said a farm near the coastal city of Sirte, 170 miles southeast of Misrata, was used to hide the bodies.
“The Libyan Express newspaper [says] a propaganda video posted to social media in April 2015 appeared to show the Islamic State members shooting and beheading the Ethiopian Christians, who were all wearing orange jumpsuits, on a beach,” Catholic News Agency reported Friday. “The Christians were in Libya to seek work as migrant workers, according to International Christian Concern.”
Officials found the mass grave on Dec. 23.
An international coalition battling ISIS regained control of Sirte in December 2016.
