Bronx teacher's aide arrested after confessing love to 10-year-old girl, punched in face by her stepfather

On Friday, a 23-year-old teacher's aide at the Steam Bridge School in the Bronx, New York, was arrested after he confessed his love to a 10-year-old girl and was punched in the face by her stepfather.

According to Local 12, authorities arrested Estevan Hamilton after he gave the young girl a note in which he confessed his love for her. When the child arrived at home recently, the girl gave her mother the letter to read.

At that point, the child's stepfather went to the school, confronted the teacher's aide at the Steam Bridge School, and punched him in the face on Friday. Hamilton was then arrested by the NYPD. No charges were filed against the stepfather, but Hamilton was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and first-degree harassment.

The child was taken in by a police squad dedicated to investigating whether any abuse was committed on the girl by Hamilton. His arraignment was pending on Saturday.  A concerned parent, Jose Alverez told Local 12, "My daughter went to this school, it's sickening, you know, we have to watch everything that is going on, especially in these schools."

According to the New Daily News, Hamilton was not the only local school employee arrested on Friday. School Safety Agent Brian Frett, 38, was arrested on misdemeanor assault charges for getting involved in a street fight on April 29.
