( Dallas News )
A man is accused of intentionally hitting a boy on a bicycle Saturday afternoon in The Colony.
Several people reported about 2 p.m. that a vehicle had hit a boy on a bike at North Colony Boulevard and Paige Road. When officers arrived, bystanders were rendering aid to the child, who is thought to be about 13 years old, police said.
Officer Rick De La Cruz said Nels Henry Hogberg, 22, intentionally hit the boy who was sitting on his bike waiting to go into the crosswalk because he thought the child was someone else.
The boy was taken to a hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
Hogberg, who drove away with the bike under his vehicle, was arrested shortly after and booked into The Colony jail, De La Cruz said.
Hogberg faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
