Trump says he will attend Charlie Kirk's funeral

President Donald Trump on Thursday said he will attend the funeral for Charlie Kirk.

Speaking with reporters before boarding Marine One, Trump was asked about attending the service.

"I believe it's in Arizona and they've asked me to go and I think I have an obligation to do that," he said. "I hear next weekend. Whenever it is, I'm hearing next weekend."

Trump said he spoke with Kirk's wife, Erika Lane Frantzve, who he said was "devastated."

In other remarks, Trump said he was concerned for the country over political violence.

"I'm really concerned for our country," he said. "We have a great country. We have a radical left group of, lunatics out there. Just absolute lunatics."

"And we're going to get that problems out," he added. "I'm only concerned for the country."
