Holy Friday is the day Jesus was betrayed, condemned, beaten, and crucified at Calvary. From early morning trials before the Jewish leaders and Pilate, to the soldiers’ mocking, to the long walk toward Golgotha, Jesus willingly endured suffering as the Lamb of God. Around midday He was nailed to the cross, where He prayed for His enemies, spoke words of forgiveness and compassion, and finally declared, “It is finished,” giving His life as the ultimate sacrifice for sin. By evening, His body was taken down and laid in a borrowed tomb. Christians call this day “Good” because through His death, Jesus accomplished salvation and opened the way to forgiveness and eternal life.
