Since Feb. 27, 2016, the west coast carbon monoxide levels went off the charts. Normal levels would be around 150 while this weekend, we find them over 127,000!
After researching the possible causes for such a spike, I find that CO levels will spike a few days prior to an earthquake as reported by Ramesh Singh, who was formerly with the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, is currently in the physics department of Chapman University in California, USA.
According to Singh, the researchers discovered the connection between CO emission and earthquake by analysing satellite remote sensing data collected around the time when a 7.6 magnitude earthquake shook Gujarat in western India nine years ago killing about 20,000 people and rendering thousands homeless.
Another issue of a major CO level in an area is health to the citizens. High CO exposure can cause:
Headache
Fatigue
Shortness of breath
Nausea
Dizziness
High level CO poisoning results in progressively more severe symptoms, including:
Mental confusion
Vomiting
Loss of muscular coordination
Loss of consciousness
Ultimately death
It is said to be a natural occurance, nothing that is caused by man. This is too big an area for it to be a man made event. So, why aren't the main stream media reporting on this? Why hasn't the government given some kind of reason for this phenomenon? Are they unaware? NO. Are thy studying this? Are they just going to keep this to themselves because most people don't even know this is going on? CO is colorless, and one would need special equipement to detect it so they are safe in keeping this info under wraps. These are questions for which we may never get an answer.
What can we do about this.....nothing. However, if you have a vacation coming, now is a good time to visit other parts of the country. That said, we don't know if a quake will come out of this. We don't have a crystal ball. We can't tell the future, but we can be careful and alert.
UPDATE: After researching info for the LA methane gas leak, I found that the methane gas leak put as much gases into the atmosphere as 600,000 cars. Since cars give off carbon monoxide, I came to the conclusion that this CO problem on the west coast is more than likely from the LA methane gas leak and all the other gas leaks going on in CA. So, now we can breath easier about possible earthquake in CA. However, the health issues still present a problem.
