A Catholic church in Lansing, Michigan was the latest target of pro-abortion vandals over the weekend as the state prepares to vote on a pro-abortion amendment to its constitution.

More than 100 churches, pro-life organizations and political offices have been vandalized, set on fire, threatened and harassed since May when someone leaked a draft ruling showing the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.

On Sunday, Lansing Catholics discovered the vandalism on their way to Mass at the Church of the Resurrection on East Michigan Avenue, according to the Diocese of Lansing.

Red spray-paint on the building, sidewalk and sign read “RESTORE ROE” and “IS OVERTURNING ROE WORTH YOUR LIFE OR YOUR DEMOCRACY?” The paint since has been washed off, and police are investigating, according to the diocese.

A security video from the diocese shows three individuals committing the crime between 11:52 p.m. and 11:56 p.m. Oct. 8, WLNS News 6 reports.

The Rev. Steve Mattson said they pray the vandals will recognize the error of their ways and repent.

“Our hope and our prayer is that those who did this to our parish church are not just brought to justice but are also brought to conversion, brought to an encounter with the love of Jesus, brought to a realization that anger corrodes the soul while life in Christ brings only freedom, peace and healing,” Mattson said. “That’s our hope. That’s our prayer.”

The church also now has a message on its sign that reads, “To whomever vandalized our church: We forgive you and we are praying for you.”

Churches and pro-life organizations have been victims of crime all across the United States in recent months, but the attacks have been especially common in Michigan where residents will vote on a pro-abortion constitutional amendment in November. Proposal 3 would allow unborn babies to be aborted through all nine months of pregnancy in Michigan and end common-sense abortion regulations, including parental consent laws.

In September, an elderly pro-life woman was shot by an angry abortion supporter while campaigning against the amendment in Lake Odessa; she survived. The man is facing several charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and careless discharge of a firearm causing injury.

Also in the state, abortion activists have vandalized pregnancy centers in Southfield, Dearborn Heights and Redford, Jackson Right to Life and Congressman Tim Walberg’s office, and a Catholic church in Armada. Abortion activists also blocked a 4th of July parade in Lansing, and a nearly-naked abortion activist disrupted the Mass at St. Veronica Parish in Eastpointe, near Detroit.

In recent weeks, many pro-life leaders and Republican lawmakers have expressed frustration with the Biden administration’s inaction in response to the politically-motivated crime wave.

According to the Catholic News Agency, federal authorities have not made any arrests. In September, Fox News reported the FBI and local police departments could not confirm any arrests in response to 18 acts of arson and vandalism allegedly committed by the violent pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge.
