ADL defines '100%' as racist, white supremacist

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is gaining attention online for its “Glossary of Extremism and Hate” including the term “100%.” The organization claims that it is shorthand for "100% white," a phrase allegedly utilized by white supremacists to promote their ideology.

The ADL’s Center on Extremism created this glossary to provide an explanation of terms and individuals used to promote “extremist or hateful ideologies.” While the ADL's glossary does contain terms commonly used by white supremacists, such as "88" and "14 words," some argue that the organization is attributing racism and bigotry to seemingly innocuous terms.

Donald Trump Jr. recently posted a screenshot on X of the term “100%” in the ADL’s glossary, criticizing the organization for being overly zealous in labeling things as racist.

“This is a term used by virtually anyone discussing probability on a daily basis. They will find racism in anything and everything and it needs to stop now! Enough of this BS!” Trump Jr. posted on X.

In the past, the ADL has been repeatedly accused of being politically biased with its Glossary of Extremism and Hate by adding terms and individuals that are associated with conservatism. This perception of bias was further exacerbated by an incident involving the inclusion of Chaya Raichik, owner of the popular social media account "Libs of TikTok," in the glossary.

The ADL accused Raichik's account of promoting anti-LGBTQ+ content and implied that it contributed to harassment, threats, and violence against the individuals featured. In response, Raichik threatened legal action unless the ADL removed her from the glossary, which the organization ultimately did.
