Anti-semitic group targets hundreds of Jewish sites across Canada with threats of a 'pool of blood': report

An anti-semetic group reportedly calling itself “Court” sent a bomb threat via email early Wednesday morning to hundreds of synagogues, Jewish support centers and hospitals, warning of that all affected will be in "a pool of blood" because "none of you deserve to keep living." That the emails were sent was verified by the Ottawa Police, the alleged text of the email was posted on X.

The email, that Canada’s mainstream media has not revealed, reads as follows, per Melissa Rogers, on X:

“Hi. We placed many explosives inside your building. They are placed in black backpacks. The bombs are set to go off in a few hours. You will all end up in a pool of blood. None of you deserve to keep living. Everyone inside the building will lose their lives. I incessantly have nothing other than scoring for humanity. Today will be your last day on earth. The group named “Court” is behind this massacre. We won’t stop causing terror.”

The poster noted: “WOW. the bomb threat EMAIL sent to Jewish institutions and synagogues this morning. Welcome to Canada.” The Post Millennial has not independently verified the contents of this email.

The Ottawa Police Services have acknowledged the existence of the email, saying “Ottawa Police are assisting the RCMP with an ongoing police operation at various Ottawa Hospitals. Police are taking pre-cautionary [sic] measures to ensure public safety while the investigation continues. Please follow police direction on site. We will provide additional information as it is available.”

"The email did suggest that the institutions that were targeted were targeted because the individuals that would be in attendance at those institutions did not deserve to live," Richard Robertson, director of research and advocacy at B'nai Brith Canada, told CTV News. "It's a deeply concerning threat and it's one that is rooted in the enhancing levels of antisemitism and incitement against the Jewish community that we've been witnessing for a number of months now."

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the threats, saying “I’m disgusted at reports that more than 100 Jewish institutions across Canada were targeted by threats today. This is blatant antisemitism. The RCMP is in contact with local law enforcement to investigate, and we’re working with them to keep Jewish Canadians safe.”

An anti-Israel group disrupted a workshop on antisemitism at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago Wednesday. Anti-Israel protests have defined the convention as much as the events inside the auditorium have.
