Antifa attacked a Christian man outside the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Portland, Oregon, stealing his Bible and setting it on fire. The incident occurred during the violent anti-ICE "No Kings" riot on March 28, in which leftist rioters launched a multi-hour siege of the federal building.

Video footage captured by The Post Millennial shows Sterling Martin standing by himself near the driveway of the ICE building when a rioter pointed him out in the crowd. He was then surrounded by protesters and attacked by black bloc Antifa.

"Does anyone remember this guy? Why is he still here?" said 37-year-old Robert Stoms, a violent trans Antifa militant who was later arrested that night. Stoms and a few others advanced towards Martin.

"Get the f*ck out of here!" another assailant yelled, before a black bloc Antifa militant robbed Martin from behind, stealing his hat off his head. Martin, surrounded, stood calmly as the group grew more aggressive.

Moments later, several Antifa members, concealing their identities behind facial coverings, approached and dumped a large bucket full of chemicals over Martin's head. Martin reported to TPM that protesters earlier in the day stole his backpack, which had his Bible inside. He was also allegedly spat on by several people.

Portland Antifa extremist, Shawn Michael Bitgood, who uses the alias "Comrade Freya" and identifies as transgender, shared images on X of Martin's Bible burnt to ashes. Bitgood was previously visited by the FBI's domestic terrorism task force unit and is a current defendant in a murder case. He is also a frequent protester at the ICE facility.

Another leftist account, username "@blacklodge31771," shared a photo of Martin's Bible burning in front of the ICE facility, mocking him in a post on X and saying he won't be getting his Bible back.

This comes as the ICE facility has been the target of ongoing criminal acts since June 2025, when Antifa launched a 24-hour anti-ICE occupation. Martin told The Post Millennial that he is concerned that the violence outside the facility would lead to death if local or federal officials do not intervene.

"If there's anything we should take from what was done to me is a cautionary story of what occurs at ICE almost nightly," Martin told TPM in a statement. "Attacks against ICE and DHS officers are only increasing, and the local municipalities are not supporting them, making the issue worse. The left can act with impunity, climbing on top of cars, setting fires in the streets, and destroying external cameras."

"From this, I pray that the violent demonstrations, which are allowed to take place, receive enough public attention and support so as to prevent such hostility in the future," he continued. "I fear that if something is not done, by either the federal government or local authorities, someone will end up killed at the hands of Antifa."

During the No Kings riot, Portland Police arrested three leftist rioters, including Stoms, who was responsible for Martin's attack, according to video evidence. Stoms was detained, however, not for the attack on Martin but for a variety of alleged crimes committed that day, including criminal mischief. Federal authorities have opened separate investigations into individuals who carried out attacks during the disturbance, such as removing security cameras, breaching the facility, breaking the main gate, attacking federal officials, and setting barricades on fire.

Since June 2025, the US Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon has charged over 30 protesters with crimes committed at the facility, including violent assaults against federal police with deadly weapons and arson attacks. Many of the defendants face decades in federal prison. Several of them have already been convicted.
