Several “incendiary devices” were found at a Tesla dealership in Texas, according to police.
A bomb squad deployed to the dealership in north Austin around 8 a.m. Monday after receiving a call about suspicious objects that had been found there.
The objects were determined to be working incendiary devices, and were taken away by cops.
No suspects or motivations in the case have been released, but it comes after a string of attacks on the Elon Musk-owned car company in recent weeks in retaliation over his activities with President Trump’s DOGE.
Previous attacks have happened across the country, with Tesla cars and charging stations being vandalized, torched and even shot up by rogue activists. Both Attorney General Pam Bondi and President Trump have called the attackers “domestic terrorists” and vowed to prosecute with a heavy hand.
“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” Bondi said in a statement last week, announcing that three people who were charged in the attacks so far could face up to 20 years in prison.
“Let this be a warning: If you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars,” she said.
Those three defendants include Adam Matthew Lansky, 41 — who allegedly shot up an Oregon Tesla dealership and torched numerous cars there in January; 40-year-old Lucy Grace Nelson – who allegedly vandalized and torched Teslas at a Colorado dealership; and Daniel Clarke-Pounder, 24, who allegedly vandalized and burned charging stations in South Carolina.
In those cases, homemade Molotov cocktail explosives were used.
The charges range from arson to destruction of property, and none have been charged with domestic terrorism – though it remains unclear if Bondi’s office will elevate their charges.
Vandals have spray-painted phrases like “F–k Trump” and “Long live Ukraine” on the dealerships in apparent protest of Musk’s alignment with Trump on numerous issues.
A website has even cropped up revealing the names and private information of Tesla owners across the country in an attempt to intimidate them into giving up their cars.
Trump has been outspoken about stopping the attacks.
“We’re going to catch them, they’re bad guys,” he said in March while buying his own Tesla to show support for Musk.
“We’re going to catch you, and you’re going to go through hell.”
