Car Crashes Into Front Gate Of FBI's Atlanta HQ, Driver Arrested

A car crashed into the front gate of the FBI's headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday, the bureau said. According to reports, a red SUV rammed into the front gate of the FBI's office off Flower Road just after noon. The driver has been taken into custody by the DeKalb County Police Department, and a motive is yet to be disclosed. No one was injured in the incident, according to reports.

According to Vigilant News on X: "eyewitnesses observed tactical vehicles encircling the scene, with yellow crime scene tape marking the perimeter around the damaged gate and the vehicle."


"We can confirm a person rammed into FBI Atlanta's front gate shortly after noon today," FBI Atlanta said in an emailed statement to Newsweek. "The suspect was taken into custody by Dekalb Police. There are no injuries and agents are checking the car as a precaution. We don't have any further information at this time."


However, a spokesperson from the DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) told the Newsweek that FBI is handling the incident, not the DKPD.


The CNN reported that the driver got out of the vehicle after the crash and tried to enter the FBI headquarters on foot. However, he was arrested soon after and was was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The report further stated that the car is currently being clear by a bomb squad, according to FBI Atlanta spokesperson, Tony Thomas.
