The FBI has arrested four individuals who are said to be part of a radical pro-Palestinian extremist group for a terror plot that would have targeted Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. They were allegedly planning coordinated bombing attacks at five separate locations across New Year’s Eve using improvised explosive devices.

The four arrested are self-identified members of a radical offshoot of the Turtle Island Liberation Front, the FBI told Fox News. The extremist group has anti-government, anti-law enforcement, and pro-Palestinian beliefs.

The four were arrested in Lucerne Valley, California. The FBI said the four were believed to have been preparing to test explosive devices in preparation for the attack. They have been charged with conspiracy and possession of a destructive device.

A fifth individual believed to also be connected to the same extremist group was also arrested in New Orleans for allegedly planning a separate attack.
