A woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her friend after he told her that she could not drink a beer during their Uber drive, which then "irritated" the alleged scissor-stabber.
Lynn Marie Zamora, 32, was arrested by police on Monday night in Florida for the alleged attack in the Uber after she and her male friend were picked up from the Best Western Plus Kendall Hotel & Suites in Miami by an Uber driver, Law and Crime reported.
It was reported that when the two were in the car heading to another friend'sm house, Zamora said to the victim that she wanted to have a beer. When the male victim told Zamora that she could not drink in the car ride, she became "irritated" with him and was insisting that she could have the drink.
Uber's website states, "Drug use and open containers of alcohol are never allowed while using the Uber Marketplace Platform." It also says that those riding in the car should "[n]ever bring illegal drugs or open containers of alcohol into a car."
After she was told repeatedly that she could not have the beer, Zamora allegedly "removed a pair of scissors from her purse" and then stabbed her male friend in his bicep and then once in his calf muscle. The Uber driver then stopped the car and got out to call 911 while the victim also left the vehicle. Police arrived on the scene and took the victim to the hospital to be treated for the non-life-threatening injuries. Zamora did not provide a statement and was taken by police to the Hammock Police Station.
Zamora had a court hearing on Wednesday, and prosecutors noted that she was on probation and was previously convicted of battery on a person above the age of 65 as well as other sexual and battery charges. Zamora was ordered to stay in jail and will have her next court hearing on August 12.
