US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials have arrested 11 Iranian nationals in the country illegally, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement on Tuesday.

One of the 11 Iranian nationals was on the known or suspected terrorist list, according to a CBS report shared by DHS's official X/Twitter.

This individual was arrested in Gluckstadt, central Mississippi, the CBS report noted.

Another, who was arrested in Locust Fork, northern Alabama, allegedly possessed an Iranian Armed Forces identity card, CBS stated. ICE alleges that he served as an Iranian sniper from 2018-2021.

Other arrests were made in Buffalo, New York, Houston, Texas, San Francisco and San Diego, California, Tempe, Arizona, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Five of those arrested possessed criminal convictions, including for grand larceny, drug possession, and firearm possession.

Authorities also arrested a US citizen accused of threatening law enforcement and harboring one of the Iranian nationals, according to the department, which oversees ICE.

"DHS has identified and arrested known or suspected terrorists and violent extremists that illegally entered this country, came in through Biden’s fraudulent parole programs or otherwise," the department wrote on X.

"We have been saying we are getting the worst of the worst out—and we are. We don’t wait until a military operation to execute; we proactively deliver on President Trump’s mandate to secure the homeland."
