"Iran never targets civilian areas, especially not hospitals, as opposed to Israel, which has intentionally targeted hospitals in Gaza," Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Iranian state TV.
The foreign minister of the Islamic Republic added that Iran is not prepared for talks with anyone while Israeli attacks continue, and said that "after our resistance against Israel, I think countries will distance themselves from this 'aggression.' There is no room for negotiations with the US until the Israeli aggression stops."
The Iranian foreign minister elaborated that the reasoning for the halt of negotiations with the US is due to the country being a "partner to Israeli crime against Iran," he claimed. He then further told state TV that Iran's talks with the E3 in Geneva will focus solely on nucler and regional issues, and that Tehran's ballistic missile program is non-negotiable.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the same day that Iran "has always sought peace and tranquility, but now, the only way to end imposed war is to unconditionally stop 'the enemy's aggression,'" adding that "Iran has to provide a defeiniteive guarantee to end the adventures of Zionist terrorists forever."
Araghchi claims Islamic Republic's actions 'all in self-defense'
Araghchi earlier claimed on Thursday that Tehran’s actions are purely in self-defense, but his country “remains committed to diplomacy," according to a post he shared on X/Twitter.

“Even in the face of the most outrageous aggression against our people, Iran has so far only retaliated against the Israeli regime and not those who are aiding and abetting it,” Araghchi wrote on Thursday.
Araghchi earlier posted to X/Twitter to justify the regime's targeting of Soroka Medical Center by comparing it to the destruction of hospitals in Gaza, alleging there are military targets nearby.
"Our powerful Armed Forces accurately eliminated an Israeli Military Command, Control & Intelligence HQ and another vital target," Araghchi claimed, discussing the ballistic missile attack on Soroka Medical Center.
