One person injured after suspicious package explodes at Northeastern University

BOSTON – A person was injured when a suspicious package exploded on the Northeastern University campus Tuesday, Boston Police said.


Officers were called to 39 Leon Street at about 7:15 p.m. The victim suffered a minor injury and was taken to a hospital by Boston EMS.


The building was evacuated.


The FBI is assisting with the Boston Police bomb squad.


MIT Police urged people on the Cambridge campus to to be alert and report any suspicious packages after the incident at Northeastern.
