OPINION: AI Won’t End the World — That’s God’s Job

Every few months, someone announces that artificial intelligence is about to destroy humanity. They say it with charts, statistics, dramatic headlines, and a tone that sounds like the sky is already cracking open.

But here’s the simple truth I stand on: If it’s not in the bible, I don’t worry about it.

AI will not end the world. God will.

That’s not arrogance. That’s not denial. That’s Scripture.

Humans have invented terrifying things before — nuclear bombs, biological weapons, chemical warfare, Cyber attacks. Every generation has had its “this could wipe us out” moment. And yet the world keeps turning, because God has already declared how the story ends, and He didn’t hand that job to mankind or to machines.

AI is powerful, yes. AI is unpredictable, yes. AI can deceive, manipulate, and imitate human behavior. But, AI doesn’t do things without man pushing the buttons. Just like the internet, cell phones, and every other piece of technology, both wicked and righteous hands touch the same tools. Technology has never been the problem; the human heart has. It’s God behind the scenes that decides how far they can go.

But AI is not sovereign.

It doesn’t have a will. It doesn’t have authority. It doesn’t have the power to override the One who spoke the universe into existence.

Researchers warn about “catastrophic risk,” “loss of control,” and “existential threat.” I listen to them — but I don’t bow to their fear. Because their warnings are about human misuse, not divine prophecy. We’ve heard these fear mongering cries for decades and yet we are all still hear. Why? Because God is the one who is in control, not AI and not man.

AI might be used to cause problems. AI might be used to cause suffering. AI might be used by wicked people for wicked purposes.

But AI cannot end humanity. AI cannot rewrite prophecy. AI cannot take over God’s role.

The Bible says:

• God ends the world, not man.

• God judges the nations, not machines.

• God brings history to its conclusion, not technology.

So while the world panics, I stay grounded.

Not because AI is harmless — but because God is in control of all things, even AI.

The real danger isn’t that AI can destroy the world. The real danger is that people forget who actually holds the timeline. The real danger is that this fear mongering will cause people to grow fearful and we are not given a spirit of fear. People might find themselves in a crisis of faith. Others might let this fear mongering set off violent tendencies they didn’t realize they had.

Fear makes people irrational. Faith makes people clear‑headed.

And clarity is exactly what we need right now.

AI may accelerate the environment of the last days — deception, confusion, global systems, rapid knowledge — but it does not cause the last days. It simply fits into the landscape God already described.

So I’m not losing sleep over AI. I’m not wringing my hands. I’m not watching the sky for falling robots. Because AI is not in the bible so I don’t worry about it.

I’m watching for Christ.

Because when the world ends, it won’t be because a machine malfunctioned. It will be because the King stands up and says, “It is time.”
