OPINION: PERSECUTION IS NOT FAR OFF EVEN IN THE US

I’ve been reading disturbing news articles in the U.S. where states, cities, and universities are not allowing Christians their right to worship. It’s no longer a one‑time thing; now it’s being reported almost every day.

In August, VSU’s Campus Ministries office adopted a new policy informing student leaders that “student‑led ministries” could no longer hold registered student organization status or affiliate with their national organizations. Instead, faith‑based groups like Women of Victory and Bethel Campus Fellowship would be absorbed into VSU’s Campus Ministries, subject to the sole authority of the University’s Campus Minister, Thomas Wynn, and a board of advisors made up of faculty members and university employees.

Under the new policy, Wynn is granted control of all student‑led ministries, with complete discretion to approve or reject requests for religious meetings, events, guest speakers, and all other religious activities on campus. The Muslim Students Association and the VSU Community Faith Alliance—the only non‑Christian religious organizations at VSU—are explicitly exempted. When student leaders asked Wynn why the policy restricts only Christian groups, he replied, “Because you are all faith‑based … because you purport Jesus Christ and faith.”

Wynn also announced that the policy eliminates Sunday shuttles that used to transport students to and from a local church because “the school wants to crack down on transportation to outside churches.” The lawsuit notes that although the policy begins with a commitment to help students “grow in their respective faith traditions,” it applies only to Christian groups. It punishes students for expressing their religious beliefs, and university officials have used it to prohibit Christian students from gathering—even for non‑religious purposes, such as an informal pajama party in a residence hall.

This is not just unconstitutional; it’s prophetic. And it’s not the only incident of late.

Dearborn — A federal civil rights lawsuit filed by a local lawyer says Mayor Abdullah Hammoud and other city officials have made Dearborn “a hostile place for Christians and Jews” by allocating taxpayer funds to celebrate Muslim holidays with banners and displays, while refusing repeated requests to give equal treatment to other faiths. Not only would they not decorate for Christian or Jewish holidays, but because of the lawsuit, they doubled down and put brighter lights on the signs.

And this isn’t all the mayor has done. The News Democrat reports that Hammoud made national headlines for his response to Christian pastor and resident Ted Baram, who complained about a Dearborn street being named after Arab American News publisher Osama Siblani. Siblani has publicly praised Hezbollah and Hamas—U.S.‑designated terrorist groups—as “freedom fighters.” After Baram complained, Hammoud told him: “Although you live here, I want you to know as mayor, you are not welcome here. And the day you move out of the city will be the day that I launch a parade celebrating the fact that you moved out of the city.”

We know Dearborn is filled with Muslims, the same people who stole millions of dollars from taxpayers with their scams. They came to our country for what reason? Not to escape this kind of living, because they bring it with them. They have set up their own little country in Dearborn. How did that happen, and why hasn’t it been stopped? There should be a law that says you either assimilate or stay where you will be more at home and happier… in your own country.

This started years ago during open‑border policies of the past. No one cared if they brought in their own country as long as they voted the way they were told. It didn’t matter that they stole millions of taxpayer dollars; governors and AGs turned their heads as long as the votes stayed in line.

Now they attack the one person who has given us this great country—Jesus. They attack those who love Him more than anything. They attack exactly as the Bible said they would. We’ve been safe here. We’ve been protected by God because we have helped Israel and the Jewish people. But the U.S. has sinned in so many vile ways that God, as long‑suffering as He is, may have had enough.

The church’s lights went dim. They let this happen. Do you hear any of them complaining? What about all those so called spiritual advisors in the administration, where are their voices? Have you seen any protests in the streets demanding our constitutional rights? No. When a Christian backs away, Satan steps forward. This is what we’re seeing.

I can write opinion pieces on this every day. It won’t move the church. The lone Christian can sue and complain, but the church is still quiet. Why? Because they’ve been spoon‑fed this ideology so long they now believe it. They are the tares.

We all wondered how long God would be patient with the horrible sins of our nation. It seems His hand is lifting. If it keeps lifting, we will one day see the same treatment Christians face in other countries. Christians, ask yourself this… will you bend a knee, or will you speak His name out loud during those days? Our brothers and sisters in Christ in the Middle East, China, North Korea, and other places have spoken His name, and they didn’t live to talk about it.

Am I fear‑mongering? Look around you. Read the news about these events. Then ask yourself… is Linda fear‑mongering? I don’t think so. If you do think so, how is the air down under the ground?
