It's been revealed that the suspected shooter that killed two cops and paramedic in Minnesota on Sunday was a left-wing felon who had previously had his gun rights stripped for crimes he committed in 2008.

Copies of a legal petition posted online for Shannon Gooden, who was also killed in the shootout, were submitted to a Minnesota court in 2020. They revealed that Gooden was convicted of felony assault charges in 2008 and had his gun rights stripped away.

Gooden was a supporter of former President Barrack Obama in 2013, as revealed by Facebook posts from his profile. Video of him at the gun range while still having his gun rights revoked were posted on X as well.

He stated in the post that most critics of Obama were "stay-at-home moms" who disagreed with measures the president took on welfare and food stamps. He said if the mom's husbands were to leave them, the single-mom critics would "be thankful for the government."

On Sunday, officers responded to a domestic call that a family was in danger in Burnsville, Minnesota. The situation escalated into a shootout and the officers killed in the shooting were Paul Elmstrand on the left, Matthew Ruge in the center. The paramedic killed was Adam Finseth on the right.

A heavy police presence was seen at the scene with an armored vehicle, which took bullet damage.

State and federal officials were quick to target guns and gun laws amidst the aftermath of the shooting. Rep. Dean Phillips, who is also making a run against President Joe Biden for the presidency, posted to X.

"Too many firearms in the hands of people in need of emotional healthcare, not guns."

In the wake of the incident, Vice President Kamala Harris also posted online, vouching for an assault weapons ban.   "Congress must have the courage to act and pass commonsense gun safety laws, including an assault weapons ban," she stated.
