Sacramento-area Hindu temple vandalized, hate crime investigation underway

A hate crime investigation is underway Wednesday at a Hindu temple in the Sacramento area after vandals struck.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Mather, near Rancho Cordova, after graffiti was discovered.

Deputies say it appears vandals also cut water lines at the property.

No suspect information was available.
