Target rolls back DEI programs

Retail giant Target will be rolling back its diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in pattern with many other corporations across the United States of America following the election of President Donald Trump.

In a statement on its website, Target said, “Throughout 2025, we’ll be accelerating action in key areas and implementing changes with the goal of driving growth and staying in step with the evolving external landscape. We will continue to monitor and adjust as needed."

The actions that the company said would be taking place includes ending their "three-year diversity, equity and inclusion goals," stopping their "Racial Equity Action and Change (REACH) initiatives" as well as "stopping all external diversity-focused surveys, including HRC’s Corporate Equality Index."

The company added that it would be transferring changing the "Supplier Diversity" team into a "Supplier Engagement" team instead in order to "better reflect our inclusive global procurement process across a broad range of suppliers, including increasing our focus on small businesses."

Target is now added to a long list of companies that have ended or are rolling back their DEI initiatives. This includes Meta, Amazon, Tractor Supply, Target’s competitor Walmart, and many others. One figure that has been key in getting the corporations to roll back their DEI programs and other left-wing policies is Robby Starbuck, who has gone on a campaign against corporate America to roll back DEI.
