Teletubbies, Crocs to sponsor 'Kids Fashion Show' at RuPaul's DragCon

RuPaul's DragCon, described as the "first convention celebrating drag, queer culture, & self-expression," is hosting a kids' fashion show as a part of its UK event this coming weekend, which is being sponsored by foam shoe company Crocs.

"Want to walk the runway?" the poster for the event asks, in which children are given the opportunity to dress up in drag and perform for adults.

"All kids under 18 are welcome," the poster says, instructing them to report to the side of the main stage with their guardians before the show kicks off.

The Instagram post promoting the event begins by saying, "Hit them with your catwalk, kids," followed by an emoji of a high-heeled shoe. "Bring it to the runway with your parent/guardian for the #DragCon UK 2023 Kids Fashion Show, Sunday 8th January on the @crocseurope Main Stage!"

Another recently announced sponsor of the event is the children's television show, Teletubbies. Gay Times reports that Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po will also be in attendance at the drag convention's "kids zone" where they will be posing for photos with drag queens.

"They will be doing a Kids Fashion Show complete with a meet and greet on Sunday, meaning we are sure to see some sickening pictures of the queens alongside the four famous faces," the gay lifestyle magazine says.

This year has seen countless sexualized drag show performances promoted as "all-ages" events, prompting protests and petitions by groups concerned about the over-sexualization of children.

Some US states have passed, or are in the process of passing, laws banning under-18s from drag queen events, while other far-left politicians, such as New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are actively promoting direct actions held in support of the events.

The move by Crocs to sponsor an event like this has prompted people on Twitter to find interesting ways of disposing of their foam footwear.
