Parents of an autistic 10-year-old boy, one of whom is a trans-identified male, have been arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of their child.
Robert Eugene Plummer, also known as Kirstyn Piper, 45, who is a trans-identifying male, and Amy Plummer, 46, were arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of their 10-year-old son who also has autism, according to reporting done by Reduxx.
The outlet obtained evidence from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office revealing that the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) was contacted in December about the couple.
According to their son's school nurse, there had been "ongoing concerns" over the 10-year-old's hygiene. When DCPP went to the residence of Piper and Plummer, the bathroom was “covered in feces” and Home Depot buckets filled with human waste were in the hallways of the home.
When authorities spoke to the son, he indicated to the officers that there was allegedly a "sewage problem," according to testimony. "He explained that this problem does not allow feces to be properly flushed down the drain."
The child revealed that the toilet did not flush and his parents would simply wait until the toilet was filled with human feces before scooping it into the buckets. He had been unable to bathe for a year, as feces was also put into the bathtub.
Amy Plummer admitted to the plumbing issues and said that she would make an attempt to take the child to a convenience store to defecate when needed. She said they had no income and from her disabilities, she was not able to hire a plumber.
The trans-identified male, Kirstyn Piper, allegedly had "taken control" of the issue and prohibited her from hiring a plumber to fix the pipes. Piper is also a very active trans activist online. Piper has a photo service called "Puzzling Moments" on Instagram where the trans activist takes photos of the 10-year-old son and posts other gender-related content.
In February of 2023, Piper wrote a blog post that detailed the process of raising the 10-year-old.
“As caregivers, it’s our responsibility to provide a safe and inclusive environment for our children, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. By exposing them to diverse perspectives and experiences, we can help them understand and appreciate the unique struggles that people from different communities face,” Piper wrote in the now-deleted entry.
“Introducing our children to LGBTQ+ issues and transgender rights can also help break down harmful stereotypes and stigmas that may exist in society. Normalizing conversations around these topics can create a more accepting and compassionate world for all individuals.”
