Trans-identified substitute teacher Hadyn Dollery, 19, has been arrested and charged with threatening a "murder spree" at a Loudon County public high school. He made the threats in an online chat and the sheriff's office said they received reports Dollery had also said he had a "kill list."
Dollery is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and will appear for a preliminary hearing in Loudoun General District Court on May 26, reports the Loudoun Times Mirror. He has been removed from the substitute teachers list.
"Deputy Chris Freck wrote in a criminal complaint that the sheriff's office received a report on April 16 that Dollery made online threats against family and friends in a message to a friend on the Discord app.
"Freck said the threats included going on a 'murder spree' at a school. The release said the school was John Champe in Stone Ridge. Freck said Dollery's message included a 'kill list,'" the outlet reported.
The sheriff's office said received a report from the Safe2Talk app that led them to see that Dollery had made the statements online threatening violence.
Loudoun County allows non-licensed substitute teachers so long as they are 18 and either have a high school diploma of a GED equivalency. Loudoun County Public Schools have some 5,000 substitute teachers.
