3 reported dead in shootings near Michigan State campus as police launch manhunt for suspect in Michael Myers mask

Students at Michigan State University are spooked after a pair of Halloween night shootings near the campus reportedly left at least three dead and five critically injured.
According to university spokeswoman Amber McCann, the off-campus incidents in Lansing are not believed to be connected with the school and did not pose a threat to campus, The State News reported.
However, students expressed their concern to Metro Detroit News about the fact that they had not received any kind of MSU alert regarding the shootings.
Dispatches indicated that one of the incidents occurred around 12:26 am after an argument broke out between a pair of groups near a parked vehicle. An armed individual emerged from the vehicle and fired several shots into the crowd.
A separate incident happened sometime in the one o’clock hour, according to video from a Ring doorbell camera.
Reports indicated that one suspect was wearing a Michael Myers mask from the “Halloween” horror movie franchise.
A social-media account appearing to belong to former MSU and Atlanta Hawks basketball player Nick Ward described how the scene unfolded.”
“It all went down on frye and stoddard,” wrote @NickolasWard44 on X. “A bunch of thugs just took over the whole street, [revving] their cars and flashing their guns. Police came to shut down coaster, but the thugs that were actually causing problems didnt move.”
Police expected to hold a press conference about the two shootings at 3 pm on Sunday, The State News reported.
