Inspirational: WGOD — THE STATION THAT HEARS YOU

BY: Linda Kirby/WGON 11.2.26

Some people think hearing from God requires silence, stillness, or stepping away from life. But I’ve learned something simpler: I just keep my heart tuned to His station — WGOD — all day long.
I don’t have to stop what I’m doing. I don’t have to change my routine. I don’t have to enter a special “holy moment.”
I just keep Him in the background the same way others keep music playing while they work. And because the channel stays open, I don’t miss His nudges. I don’t miss His comfort. I don’t miss His timing.
Some folks only tune in to God on Sundays, like He’s a weekly broadcast. Not me. My dial is glued to WGOD — volume up, antenna pointed straight at heaven.
Today I sat outside and felt the ache of wanting companionship — someone to talk to, someone to share thoughts with. I’m a talker, have been all my life. And when you have a talker with no one to talk to…well, “Houston, we have a problem.”
I was becoming sad — not my normal personality at all — but that deep ache that grows when the heart needs human interaction. So teary‑eyed me went back inside. And not long after, just as I was drifting further into despair, my son called.
Now mind you, he had been here just a couple of hours earlier. He had already called once after leaving. But right when I needed someone the most, he called again — and we talked for a long time, reminiscing about old days. He let me ramble on and on, like he somehow knew I needed it.
When we hung up, I said, “Lord, I know that was You.”
See, I’ve had WGOD turned on in my life for many decades, and I know how it works. I listen to it every second of the day. So when He moves, I recognize it instantly.
That’s WGOD for you. Perfect timing. Perfect programming. No commercials. No static.
Just communion… and answered prayers.
“Before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear.” — Isaiah 65:24
