Bessent reveals US may lift additional Venezuela sanctions as soon as next week

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed that additional U.S. sanctions on Venezuela might be lifted as soon as next week to allow oil sales, according to a Reuters report on Saturday.

"We're de-sanctioning the oil that's going to be sold," he said.

"It could be as soon as next week," he added, but did not elaborate. 

He told the outlet that he plans to meet with the heads of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank next week about Venezuela.
