California middle school teacher charged with molesting 12-year-old girl

A middle school teacher in Mountain View, California has been taken into custody for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old girl. Ralph Turner, 59, was tracked down and apprehended on Wednesday after police obtained an arrest warrant.

Turner, who taught math at Graham Middle School, has been placed on administrative leave by the Mountain View Whisman School District while police investigate the allegations levelled against him by the 12-year-old. Members of law enforcement have expressed concern that there may be additional victims and have asked anyone with more information to come forward.

He was charged with annoying and molesting a child under 14 years old as well as false imprisonment, according to KRON. The outlet reported that he was only booked for a misdemeanor. As a result, his mugshot was not eligible to be released by police.

In a statement, the City of Mountain View explained that when Turner was located by police, he surrendered "without incident."

The statement added, "Detectives are concerned there may be additional victims and encourage anyone who may have been a victim of Turner, knows anyone who may have been a victim, or who may have additional information about the case to please contact Detective Guillermo de Lira at guillermo.delira@mountainview.gov right away."
