GOD DIDN’T BRING US THIS FAR TO ABANDON US

Sometimes our trials stack up on us and we wonder where God is and why He is allowing this to happen. Did He desert us? Is He not listening to our prayers? We wonder what is going on. We get so wrapped up in what is happening to us, that we don't see what is happening for us. He is moving us to a blessing. He is strengthening us for the hard times. He is teaching us lessons. All of this is a big blessing that He is doing for us. We don’t understand His ways. "'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,' says the LORD." (Is. 55:8) Remember, Jesus said that He would never leave us nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5b). Everything God does in our lives is to glorify Him and to make us better. Naturally, we don’t want to have to go through these experiences in order to receive our blessing. We are a hardheaded people and it takes a lot to get our attention. Once we arrive where God wants us, we are glad for it: His blessing is at the end of our journey. God didn’t bring us this far to abandon us: "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Phil. 1:6).
