GOD’S GOT OUR BACK

This world is filled with people who want to do harm to everyone. Their prize is doing harm to God’s people. We see it just coming to the surface in our country, but in most parts of the world, it’s much worse. The enemy has been after God since the Garden of Eden and he has been persecuting God’s people ever since. If he can’t get to God, he will try to get to Him through God’s people. King David felt this in a big way when he was running for his life. His own countrymen were out to destroy him or turn him over to the enemy. We have that same problem today. How did David deal with this? In Psalm 54, we see that David called God his “helper”. In other words, God will deal with this. God’s got our back. David also turned his enemies over to God to judge and punish. He said in Ps. 54:5a -- “He shall reward evil unto mine enemies.” In other words, God has our backs: He’s going to make them pay for what they are doing to us. David goes so far as to say he saw their punishment. (Ps. 54:7b) -- "[M]ine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.” So, when the wickedness of this world is getting to be too much, remember, God’s got our back. He will punish them and we will see it.
