Illinois man charged with doxing, threatening FBI agent, child

A man in Illinois has been charged with doxing and threatening an FBI agent using information from documents anti-ICE agitators stole from federal vehicles that were looted in Minneapolis in January. Per Fox News, Jose Alberto Ramirez is set to appear in federal court on Wednesday afternoon.

The affidavit stated, "After the employees' personal information and documentation was compromised, several of the documents, including residential addresses, phone numbers, and emails, were posted publicly online on social media."

The FBI special agent’s work phone received a number of profanity-laced text messages from a single phone number. The affidavit stated that the messages "were sent in succession and respectively stated the following, '[Victim A's Full Name],

‘Yahahahahhahaha b**** a** n****, I know where your mom lives bro. And your dad. And your kids buddy.’ ‘Get home safe and fast.’" Another message stated, listing off an address associated with the agent, that he would firebomb it.

The man also allegedly messaged the FBI agent’s child, writing, "how does it feel to be the [child] of you’re your (sic) dad’s info leaked online and I find it incredibly embarrassing that he’s FBI, but so much is available about him and his family [squirmy face emoji]."

The affidavit noted an incident report from authorities at the Village of Schaumburg Police Department, which described a 2024 incident at the Woodfield Mall in Illinois in which a manager reported an employee named Jose Ramirez to police and provided a phone number that matched the one that allegedly sent the threatening text messages as well as a voicemail to the FBI agent.

The report said that Ramirez had been terminated from his job for threatening to shoot another employee, with the affidavit stating that Ramirez had allegedly sent threatening messages that he would return to the business despite being fired.

Ramirez has an extensive criminal history that includes "several felonies and misdemeanors in Illinois including: Misdemeanor Domestic Battery/Physical Contact (2017), Felony Burglary (2017), Felony Mob Action (2020), Felony Burglary (2023)."
