Accentuate The Positive

"Accentuate the Positive" is an old song, but they had the right idea. If you don’t accentuate the positive, as the song says, “pandemonium liable to walk upon the scene.” When we dwell on the bad things going on in our lives, we become depressed, gloomy, and short-tempered. Before you know it, your world has grown too dark to want to stay in it. Yes, it’s hard to think about the positive when everything around you is falling apart. It will take determination and some time communing with the Lord to stop thinking on the negative. Romans 15:13: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” How can we have hope when we feel our world is coming apart? We get our hope, joy, and peace from God. The only way you can keep from being caught in the trap of doom is by getting rid of the negative and accentuating the positive, as the old song goes.
