BE THE LIGHT ON THE HILL

As Christians, we are supposed to be the light on the hill so that others can find their way to Jesus. The world has drawn Christians to itself rather than the other way around. We must remember that the worldly who are searching for God want something other than what they have now. Why would they come to you for guidance if you are part of the world? They want something different. Jesus is what they are looking for and if you are that light on the hill, they will come to you to find Jesus. "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:14-16). We can’t show them Jesus by being just like them. You can’t glorify God if you are worldly. Christians should be as much a Christian at work, online, or on the golf course, as they are in church. Jesus did not say, “You are the light of the church." He said, “You are the light of the world.” You might be the only Bible some will ever read. Let them read from your good works, love, mercy, and Jesus! They will never find light anywhere in the world except from Christians and the gospel we believe and teach. They are watching us.
