BRAG ON THE LORD

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - Psalm 9:1

When wonderful things happen to us, we get all excited about it but how many of us actually stop and thank the Lord for making it happen? The excitement of the moment just moves away and we go on with whatever we were doing. God loves spoiling His children just like we love spoiling ours. But, didn’t you also like to get a little thank you here and there for the gifts you gave? God would like that also. It acknowledges that we know the gift was from our heavenly Father and we appreciate it and love Him for blessing us. The scripture says the psalmist will thank the Lord with ALL his heart. This isn’t a half hearted thanks and moving on. This is a deep gratitude from the depths of his heart. Then he goes on to say he would tell everyone about what God did for him. We should go about that same process because “bragging” about God isn’t wrong. In fact, it will show the unsaved that God does exist and does bless those who love him. I know of many people who have gotten to know God because someone bragged on what God did for them. Would we be okay if He never did another thing for us? I wouldn’t want to go through life without God’s favor upon me. Brag on the Lord when he blesses you. This shows the lost that God is love. 1 Corinthians 1:31-- “so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
