If you are a Christian, you can see in the dark.

Nothing creeps up on you in the shadows, because through Christ, you see everything. Jesus is the Light of the world, and by Him, we discern what’s unfolding—even when the world calls it chaos. He told us in His Word what would happen, so when it does, we recognize His hand. That’s Bible prophecy.

If we know our Bible, we know what the events in the world are really saying.

We understand the protests.

We understand the riots.

We understand why Hamas attacked Israel.

We know if the Israel/Palestinian peace deal will hold.

We know if Putin will make a lasting peace with Ukraine.

We know the news better than the media does.

But if you don’t know your Bible—and especially Bible prophecy—then even as a Christian, you may be walking with blinders on. There is no darkness for those in Christ. Many claim to study prophecy but twist it to suit their comfort. Yet we are warned not to change one jot or tittle of His Word. Truth isn’t meant to soothe—it’s meant to sanctify. Changing it to feel better is self-deception. And in deception, you won’t see anything in the dark.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”—1 Corinthians 2:14

This is how we see in the dark. The “natural man”—those not born again by the blood of Jesus—don’t have spiritual discernment. But we do. We wear the glasses of the Spirit.

Right now, many are believing that the Israel/Hamas peace deal will bring lasting peace to the Middle East. But we see in the dark. We know there is no true peace until Christ returns.

Scripture told us this in advance:

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about… And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

Zechariah 12:2–3

Those who can’t see in the darkness have no idea why Israel is always under siege. But we do. We know what’s coming before it comes. We don’t need psychics or tea leaves—that’s real darkness. We receive truth from the Lord.

We don’t fear. We don’t worry.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”

Psalm 91:4

Psalm 91 is full of promises that keep us from fear. The world has only darkness and dread. But we see in that darkness and know what’s there. The world has no idea what’s ahead.

So let the world stumble in darkness. We will not.

Let the world be surprised by coming difficulties. We will not.

We walk by the light of His Word, not by the flicker of headlines or the fog of emotion.

We see in the dark because we walk with the Light.

His truth is our shield, His Word our lamp, His Spirit our guide.

This is why Bible prophecy matters—

Not to predict headlines, but to prepare hearts.

Not to stir fear, but to anchor faith.

We see in the dark not because we are prophets, but because we listened to the prophets.

There is no darkness in our world, only the brilliance of His Word lighting every step. So, in the coming new year of 2026, let us be faithful stewards of the light we’ve been given—eyes wide open, hearts yielded, truth unaltered. Let the new year bring us peace because we know what is coming….Maranatha!

John 16:13-14 (ESV) 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
