INSPIRATIONAL: CONVERGENCE OF CRISES

Something is deeply wrong. If your spirit is unsettled, you’re not crazy—you’re discerning.
Here are a few examples of the many crises we are facing today:
The murder of Charlie Kirk wasn’t just a tragedy. It was a trigger. And what’s followed since has gone off the rails. I have heard speeches that disturb my spirit. I’m afraid of what I hear. We loved Charlie but we can’t let our profound grief throw off our discernment. We are reminded by Jesus to “LET no man deceive you”. 2 Thessalonians 2:3. People are not only “letting” themselves be deceived but inviting it and drinking it in. Words are being said that are right and good but then followed by manipulation. That’s how manipulation works. Say all the right things first then they won’t notice the manipulation afterward. We must be careful because people are in pain now from Charlie’s death and want someone to soothe their anguish. During that time of soothing they are slowly and gently being guided into a direction that they should steer far from.
Then there’s the anti-ICE movement—who, through desperation, have become violent and radicalized. These attacks on ICE are spreading rapidly. This shows this is clearly not organic. Why? Who benefits from dismantling law and order? Who profits from chaos? Now, the President is calling out the military to protect ICE facilities from domestic terrorism. This development brings chills down the spine of a forward thinker.
Add to that the drumbeats of war—global tensions rising, alliances shifting, and a world war waiting in the wings. The move that is supposed to end the war in Ukraine could very well have the opposite effect. I can’t help but recall one of the reasons Japan entered WWII. The U.S. Oil Embargo (1941): In response to Japan’s occupation of French Indochina, the U.S. and other Western nations cut off vital oil and raw material exports. Japan’s military estimated it had only two years of oil left. We risk that same provocation with Russia. Cut off their oil sales and their economy dies thus no war machine. But, they won’t stand still for that, who would. Just as Japan in 1941, a cornered power with nationalist fervor and military capability may choose conflict over concession.
And if that’s not enough, people are indiscriminately killing innocent people. There is no good reason to murder someone just because they look at issues opposite from you. Murder isn’t OK just because your politics is different. There’s also the fact that many hear the “dog whistles” being sent out all day every day on the news, on social media, in congress, in Hollywood saying terrible lies about others. Those who are borderline insane are pushed over the edge thinking they are saving America.
We are witnessing an unprecedented convergence of crises—far beyond anything we've seen before. This is not business as usual. The enemy is no longer operating in the shadows. He’s walking boldly through campuses, infiltrating boardrooms and government, standing behind pulpits, and consuming the unsuspecting.
This goes deeper than politics, deeper than social upheaval and yes, deeper than geopolitical agendas. We are in the midst of a spiritual war. And if you're not equipped with truth and discernment, if you don’t have on the Armour of God, you're not just vulnerable—you’re already in the cross hairs.
“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy…” (Colossians 2:8). That’s not a gentle reminder. That’s a battle cry. Because deception is everywhere—on campuses, in government, in media, in churches. And most people are too sedated by distraction, social media, or our own problems to notice. People have given up on staying informed because it’s too much to bare. This leaves them as a perfect target for the enemy. In The Art of War, Sun Tzu famously wrote: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”
It’s a timeless principle of discernment and strategy. Knowing your enemy isn’t just about identifying external threats—it’s about understanding their motives, tactics, and spiritual terrain. And knowing yourself means being clear on your own convictions, vulnerabilities, and armor. You can’t achieve that with your head in the sand.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion…” (1 Peter 5:8). He’s not hiding. He’s prowling. And he’s devouring the naïve, the passive, and the distracted.
Jesus told me in a dream: “Follow Me through the fire.” In the dream no one but me walked into the fire to follow Jesus and they were consumed by that fire while there wasn’t even the smell of smoke on me. That’s the only way forward.
Through the fire. Through the chaos. Through the deception. With Him. If we just stand there and watch the fire progressing towards us, we will be consumed. We must follow Jesus through the fire. This requires a close relationship with Him, obedience, and repentance to make it through all that is going on today.
This is the moment to be in your prayer closet. This is the moment we are to open our spiritual ears and eyes. This is the moment we should be more alert to the wiles of the enemy. In spiritual warfare, Godly wisdom is critical. If we misidentify the battle as merely political or cultural, we risk fighting shadows while the real enemy advances. But when we see clearly—both the enemy’s schemes and our own spiritual condition—we can stand firm, not just survive. The only way we can endure to the end is to put on the full Armour of God, know the enemy, and to follow Jesus through the fire.
Because the fire is here. And the sleepers won’t survive it!
