COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

It is so encouraging when we can count our blessings to see all that the Lord has done for us. Especially during this time in history when so much evil and chaos abound. We see that those in charge have taken a great deal from us, but we can sit down and make a list of our blessings. You will find that God is still taking care of you, even with all the horrible events and activities in the world today. Make that list! Don’t forget to include things that are easy to overlook: water, food, shelter, electricity, plumbing, health care, a job, the Bible, family, friends, a church -- these basics can easily be taken for granted. Next, write down those things that you see as extraordinary blessings from the Lord. Perhaps He gave you a better job, delivered you from an enemy, or, actually healed your body. Once you have finished your list, read it each time you feel downtrodden. You will see how much the Lord loves you and how He faithfully watches over you. (Don’t forget to thank God for all the care He gives you!) As you read your list, you will undoubtedly receive encouragement. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places," (Ephesians 1:3) ESV.
