DON’T FEAR DEATH

During this time in history, we are all experiencing fear of a pathogen. Many people are very ill, experiencing new disorders, or even dying. This is sending shock waves of panic throughout the world. We need to know that there is nothing to fear. As Dr. David Jeremiah has shared, there are 3 kinds of death:

PHYSICAL DEATH -- separation of the spirit and soul from the body, (2 Corinthians 5:8);

SPIRITUAL DEATH -- separation of the human soul from God, (Ephesians 2:1);

THE SECOND DEATH -- separation from God for all eternity, Revelation 21:8).

None of these means a cessation of your existence. You will live forever, either in heaven or in hell. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me" (Psalm 23:4). We see here that we do not cease to live when we die, but we merely walk through death into eternity. For true believers, eternity is in heaven. "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? ... But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:55,57). Jesus won the victory on the cross so we can be with Him forever. Life goes on for all of us; the question is -- where will you spend eternity? There are only two ways to face the future -- with fear or with faith. We must put our trust in Christ as He is the one who has defeated death. He offers that victory to anyone who trusts in Him. "Yet a little while, and the world seeth Me no more; but ye see Me: because I live, ye shall live also" (John 14:19).
