ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS

"Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." (Revelation 1:3)

What is concerning to me is that most churches do not teach the book of Revelation at all; thus their parishioners do not even know what is in the book, much less understand it. We are given a three-fold blessing for studying this book: for reading it, hearing it, and taking it to heart. No other book in the Bible offers this. Why? Because Revelation tells of the devastating events that are going to happen very soon. This book shows us that if we give our lives to Jesus, we won’t be here to go through those horrific times. That fact is the most encouraging part of the book of Revelation. "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth" (Revelation 3:10). By not reading, studying, or teaching this book, people have no idea what is coming and have no sense of urgency to get right with the Lord. Paul told us, when talking about the rapture ("the snatching away"), to comfort one another with the words in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. It is encouraging to the believer to know that they will not be present for these approaching apocalyptic events. Be encouraged, for the rapture is nearer than it’s ever been before! The stage is set for the book of Revelation to be fulfilled and we are going to be “kept from that hour” just as He promised!
