GET FRUITY

In Galations 5:16-26, Paul tells us to walk in the Spirit. He then goes on to list the works of the flesh, followed by the fruit of the Spirit. "[T]he fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, (and) self-control." As followers of Christ, we should choose to always walk in the Spirit and show agape love to our fellowman. Remember, if we practice the works of the flesh, we will reap corruption and will not inherit the kingdom of God. But if we walk by and sow to the Spirit, we will reap everlasting life. As Jesus' followers, we are a city set on a hill, a light in the darkness. In the Sermon on the Mount, our Lord said, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14). Let us, as Christians, strive to show the fruit of the Spirit with all those we come into contact. This world is dark and dying with every deed of darkness. Bring others into the light as you shine for Jesus. Your fellow Christians will be blessed and you will hold a lifeline to those drowning in sin. Love one another, share each other's burdens, and give hope to the hopeless. Jesus is coming soon, and He’s looking for the fruity!
