HE WILL CALM THE STORM

Anxiety today is a big problem. Most everyone is battling due to the current events of this new age. Some are walking the floor, others sitting and wringing their hands -- but both are asking, “Lord, where are You?" This brings to mind the story of Jesus and the disciples in the middle of a raging storm on the sea. The disciples were so afraid and Jesus lay sleeping. They were running back and forth trying to keep themselves from drowning yet never thought to go to Jesus until they were at the end of themselves. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” (Mark 4:38). It wasn’t that Jesus didn’t care if they drowned, it was that He wanted them to come to Him in faith, and then He would make things better. We, like the disciples, sometimes feel like we are drowning in all the wickedness and evil going on in this world and we feel like we can’t endure it. Just like the disciples, we need to come to Jesus and trust He will hold us up and get us through this time. He will give you peace and strength if you only trust in Him and bring your anxieties to Him. He will calm the storm.
