HOW TO FILL A VOID

When we look at rich people, we see that so many have filled their lives with expensive material things. Yet, they are still unhappy, because they are trying to fill a void that only Jesus can fill. Satan knows they are materialistic and that they lust for wealth and power. So, he uses that to his advantage. We can’t expect a lot of “stuff” to give us the love and peace that Jesus gives us. Satan tempted Jesus: "Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 'All this I will give You,' he said, 'if You will bow down and worship me' " (Matthew 4:8-9). We see that Satan knows that the flesh craves power, money, and all it can buy, so he offers it to Jesus if He would only worship him. When we crave the things of this world, we are worshiping wealth. But, as Jesus said to the devil at that time of temptation, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” (Matthew 4:10). Let the Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit fill you with His presence and love. “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you” (Matthew 6:33). Jesus alone can give you the love and peace that you are lacking in life. The Lord can fill you so full that it will bring you to your knees. All that this world has to offer cannot satisfy us. So, fill that void with Jesus -- He will satisfy you in abundance.
