IF IT’S HARD PUTTING ONE FOOT BEFORE THE OTHER
By: Linda Kirby/WGON

As we rush around, hurrying here and there and not stopping even to eat, we may wonder why our day is so bad. We can’t seem to make any progress. We take one step forward and two steps backward. What we try to accomplish only falls apart. What is the problem? We are not starting our day off with the Lord. "In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch" (Psalm 5:3). Maybe there are circumstances in your life that prevent you from seeking God in the early morning hours, but do not let circumstances control you. Put first things first and spend time with God to build a personal relationship with Him. This is vital to the Christian life. Morning prayer allows you to meet God before you meet the devil. You meet Him before you meet the circumstances of life. All the great biblical leaders prayed early in the morning. Since Jesus started His day with prayer, shouldn’t those who call themselves Christlike do the same? "Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray" (Mark 1:35). If you need help putting one foot before the other on a busy day, just sit down with Jesus in the morning and He will carry you though.
