LIKE A TREE

“But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever” (Psalm 52:8).

There are times in our lives when things don’t quite work out for us. No matter how hard we try, we seem to be in a dead season. In other words, we may have a period of time when we can’t seem to get motivated, or we don't have success when we do get something done. This is similar to a tree when all the leaves have fallen, its naked boughs left shivering in the air. The tree seems dead. However, in God’s timing, that tree puts forth new growth and is filled with God’s glory of leaves. It is reminiscent of David when he was running from King Saul. David felt like a dead tree. However, he had faith that God's love is forever and that God would protect him. We, too, need to remember that even though things may not be working out, the limbs on our tree will one day show life, and our lives will produce fruit again. It’s all in God’s timing. We must trust in Him.
