REMEMBER AND MEDITATE

By: Linda Kirby/WGON

Satan knows the battleground is in our minds. He knows if he attacks our thoughts, he has a greater chance of success in derailing us. If he can get us off balance with fear, depression, or anxiety -- then it can be very difficult to fight back. The enemy plants seeds of fear and doubt in our minds and then we start meditating on it, digesting it, and taking it deep within ourselves. What is our recourse? In Psalm 77, Asaph went through the same thing. He was so depressed he was nearing a breakdown of sorts, a spiritual depression. Then, he remembered all that God had done for him. He remembered and meditated on that (Psalms 77:10-12). He meditated on all that God had done for him and he kept dwelling on it. He even talked about it. Why talk about it? Because talking about it helps to cement it into our own thoughts, and it also brings others to the same place of remembering what God has done for them. The adversary has a multitude of ways to give us spiritual depression. He knows once he plants it, we will be tempted to meditate on his lies rather than on God’s mercies. We need to be as Asaph, and remember and meditate on all the blessings God has given us. We must remember and meditate on the fact that God will never leave us nor forsake us. The enemy wants you to believe that God has turned away from you. But Jesus didn’t bring you this far just to drop you! He’s still with you. Remember, and then, meditate, on that!
