THE DAYS OF DECEPTION

By: Linda Kirby/WGON

Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no one deceives you.” Jesus commanded us to be on guard against deception because He knew that in the last days, deception would run rampant. 2 Timothy 1:13, "Hold on to the example of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus." Treachery can be found everywhere: politics, news, science, medicine, religion, schools, etc. Jesus and the apostle Paul warned us of this in advance. Paul knew that much of the church would turn from the truth because it was happening in his day. Now we can see why Jesus warned us of deception. There’s very little truth to be found in today’s world. The source of truth is Jesus, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6a). Blatant deception is much easier to spot than the subtle lies of Satan. We must be careful and avoid falling for the cunning trickery of the enemy. If we are asking, seeking, and knocking, the Lord will be gracious and grant us wisdom and discernment. Test everything you hear by the Word of God. Jesus sent us the Helper, the Spirit of truth to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Listen to the guidance from the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of truth) -- He will save your life. 1 John 4:6 tells us that, “He who knows God hears us.” We listen because we know God, but the world doesn’t, so they can’t hear Him. Listen to Him, let Him guide you in truth because we live in perilous times where falsehood will kill those without godly insight. We Christians know the signs of the times. We are in the last seconds of the church age, and the rapture quickly approaches. Hold fast to Jesus and His truth.

I'm sharing with my son! He's a Christian but he's listening to "Christian" friends who seem to be following the world.
