Inspirational: THE POTTER AND THE CLAY

Daily Inspirational Encouragement

THE POTTER AND THE CLAY

By: Linda Kirby/WGON

As the potter molds clay with his powerful hands, the clay is asking, "Why are you doing this to me?" (Isaiah 45:9) Once the potter is finished molding the clay, we see a beautiful vessel. Just as the hymn goes, “Have thine own way, Lord, have thine own way, you are the potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still.“ We, too, should be waiting and yielding to God as He molds us and makes us after His will. Like the potter’s beautiful vessel, we will be finished into a beautiful vessel for the Lord. “But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand" (Isaiah 64:8). It is up to God to mold, transform, and sanctify us as we go through this life. Since God is doing the actual supernatural work on the inside of us, it can become rather painful and unpleasant at times, since He will be removing all of our worldly ways. Then He will be giving us all of the good, positive, and godly qualities that He will want us to have. Let God do this work in you, through the Holy Spirit, and you will eventually be molded and shaped into the godly saint that He is calling you to be. True joy, happiness, and fulfillment will be yours in the end.
