WHY DOES GOD TAKE THINGS FROM US
BY: Linda Kirby

Sometimes, God takes people or possessions from your life to protect you. Don't run after them! We as humans can place too much importance on family, friends, assets, homes, locations, etc. We often get comfortable and we don’t want our life to change. However, God may have a plan for you that is much better than the one you have now. But, you are reluctant to let go, because you love your belongings and your relationships. However, God may remove something from your life because He can see down the road. Perhaps a bad thing is going to happen in your location, so He wants to move you to a place of safety. Maybe He wants to bless you mightily, but in order to do so, He has to alter your circumstances. For example, He may need to move you away from that beloved home. In either case, why would you want everything to stay the same, knowing that God foresees the future? Don’t fight God when He wants to take something away. Instead, thank God for the time you've had in your present life. Trust Him that something even better is coming. Don’t pursue what you’ve lost once He’s taken it from you. That would mean you place more importance on those things than on your obedience to the Lord. Cooperate with God if He changes your situation. Don't fight it if He's moving you to a different place in life. He is either saving you, blessing you, or both!
Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised. — Job 1:21

Great article, Linda and so true!
As we stood outside talking with the policeman after we got home to our home being robbed, I noticed the number on the police cruiser. It was 511. In that moment, I heard a little whisper in my spirit to remember that number and look it up later.
So I did, a few days later and to my surprise, the Strongs Concordance meaning of that number is "God has taken possession," or " God has created this..."
It still stings, but I trust Romans 8 28.
