YOU CAN’T TAKE CHRIST OUT OF CHRISTMAS

This is the month everyone in the world is thinking about Christmas. Besides Easter, it is the only time of the year that the entire world thinks of Christ. Sure, the secular world may only think of Christ when they say the word “Christmas." The world might not even admit they think of the birth of Christ, but they do. That’s why they fuss so hard about the manger on the courthouse lawn. They are thinking of Christ. The old saying, “There is no such thing as bad advertising,” could apply here as well. At least Christ is on their minds -- good or bad, He’s there. However, it’s sad that even the Christians have gradually forgotten why we are celebrating. They’ve gotten into the fun of the season way too much. Remember, without the birth of Jesus, there would be no debt paid for our sin. Christians, in particular, need to remember this during the Christmas season. Celebrate with love for your neighbor just as Christ loved you. Do it out of love for Christ who paid your debt of sin. Spend time with the Savior, and more than just a few moments on the run. He was born just for you and He died just for you. That deserves a little time with Him. "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:11).
